  May 5--- Sally Brown, wife of former Figure Eight Champion "Downtown" George Brown, passed away yesterday (Sunday) in Florida. Arraignments are pending.  Cards of condolence may by sent to: George Brown

NEW S.A.F.E.R. LOGO DEBUTED

   April 15--- Many have noted the new Logo that we previewed after the awards banquet last week. After getting much feedback, we now have the official version of the long-awaited new S.A.F.E.R. logo. This is a terrific update to the outdated logo that the club has utilized for so many years.

   S.A.F.E.R, it's officers and members would like to express our grateful appreciation to Long Island Screen Printing for the marvelous job they did in revamping the logo. Thank you!

2007 CHAMPIONS CROWNED

   April 5, Smithtown, NY--- On Saturday, April 4th, S.A.F.E.R. held its annual Awards Banquet at the Smithtown Landing Country Club. Photos will also be available to view as they come into us. HALL OF FAME STORIES ADDED

   March 24--- This morning, we received another missing story for the Hall Of Fame page thanks to S.A.F.E.R. Hall Of Fame member Joe Larsen. This story is for "The Skunk", Bob Southard. This is but another story to help round out the people that have been enshrined in the S.A.F.E.R. Ernie Maynor Memorial Hall Of Fame.

   We are still looking for stories for the Hall of Fame members that were inducted between 1988 through 1995 inclusive. If any of our members can go through their old programs from those years and find a copy for us to borrow, please let us know so that the stories can be reprinted on our site. Thank you.

2008 FIGURE EIGHT RULES FOR RIVERHEAD RACEWAY

PHOTOGRAPHY STATEMENT OF POLICY

   October 17--- At SAFER8.com, we are always looking for new (and old) photos to add to the site. Due to some recent confusion, we felt that it is necessary to explain our policy for all incoming photos.

   www.SAFER8.com only utilizes photos that we are authorized to use by permission; whether that be by the photographer, or the media site that owns said photographs. Any other use on our part constitutes theft. We will not plagiarize anyone's work. When photos are sent to us, we must have the name of the photographer and/or the media site/publication that they appeared in. Further, photos must have the date they were taken and a description of the subject of the photo.

   We recently had some photos sent to us. However, at that time, we had not made our policy clear, other than a post on the Long Island Jam message board. We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused.
