Rolls to Season Win #3 & Career Win #90
July 7, Riverhead, NY--- A sticky, overcast, threatening sky with
warm temperatures had most of us wondering if the races would go on.
But race we did!
Scott Pedersen in the #27 and Mike Mujsce in the #13 led the
field to the start. Pedersen gained the advantage for a short while
with the entire division in pursuit. Tom Kraft's #8 quickly came to
second, now battling with Pedersen for the lead. There was much hard
racing between Kraft, Pedersen and Mujsce for the lead. Around lap
7, Mujsce and Pedersen connected, bringing out a caution. The field
scrambled to avoid hitting the two tangled cars, going high, low and
braking hard...
At the restart it was now TKs' #8 and Roger Maynors' #28 leading the field. Tom Kraft took off but was quickly caught and passed by Roger Maynor for the lead. Ralph Tasso and Kenny Hyde were in hot pursuit of the leaders. Soon after though Ralph Tasso pulled his car off and parked for the remainder of the race. Kenny Hyde then spun taking him out of the third position. By this time, Roger Maynor was increasing his distance from the second place car... By the end of the race, Roger led with close to a half track advantage, Tom Kraft was second, and Tom Ferrara finished in third. This was Roger Maynor's 90th career victory... Congratulations Roger!!!
On the side: Ken Sergio drove the #00 tonight for the first
time. Ken owns the Double-Zero Racing Team. Expect to see him drive
the car for the remainder of the season as Tom Graff is no longer
associated with the team. For the first time ever in a figure 8 car,
he had a very good showing.
