S.A.F.E.R. CELEBRATES 2007

April 5, 2008, Smithtown, NY--- A nice evening of food, fun, dancing and of course awards were had at the Annual S.A.F.E.R. Awards Banquet held this past Saturday night at the Smithtown Landing Country Club. Many members turned out on a rainy dreary night to acknowledge the accomplishments of some of their fellow drivers, crew members and friends.

The top ten in the point standings all received their just rewards while there were and always are a few "extra" special awards given out.  Here is a list of those "special awards"...

The inductee of the year for the Ernie Maynor Memorial Hall of Fame Award was given to 'Racin' Bobby Mason.  Bobby was clearly touched to receive such an honor and to now be included with all of the past recipients. A very fine honor indeed.

A special thanks to Mr. Bob Finan for his help in announcing our award winners, his stories, thoughts and remembrances of events.  He indeed helped to make the evening a "special look back" in time for many.

For those that were unable to attend, you missed a nice evening out. Plans are already underway for next years event.
