Through the many years of Figure 8 racing, this is dedicated to Allen VanNess. Through the support of his loving wife, Geri, family and friends, he has been around this sport for nearly 30 years.

He started in 1970 as the crew chief of #17, driven by Racin' Bobby Mason.

Then, in the early 80's, Bobby sold the car to and up and coming driver named John Burns. But something John didn't know was that Al came with the car.

After working with John through the 1990 season, he decided to dedicate his time to his son A.J.'s Figure 8 career.

In 1995 until this present day, Al and his family are now turning wrenches on the #23 driven the 'The Dean' Bill Steen. Even when the times were tough, Al was still around to help anyone. To this day, anyone who need help at the track, Al is around to do the best he can to help anyone out that he can.
